We CAN control the ethics of how WE do business and the pride that we feel for the company that we do business with! Read this from Rod Larkin... many years in Shaklee, his wisdom is golden!

"Because in today's world, Shaklee is as good as it gets."For 50 years, Shaklee offered a great income opportunity with a compensation plan that was based on 2 forms of earnings: PV Bonus and Leadership Bonus. One year ago, the GOLD Bonus program was added, and this year, the Tru-Infinity Bonus plan was added. These 2 new enhancements to our compensation plan have added the earning power we needed to be able to attract new people into our business that we could not have reache d until now. When a new person looks at our plan now, they can see that Shaklee offers incredible earning potential - like no other company out there. The news in the business world continues to get worse. Some of the biggest companies in the financial world, companies that have been in business for over 100 years, have tanked. Being in business for a long time and having a long track record no longer means stability. Being a financial giant no longer means stability. Two current examples of this are Lehman Brothers, the 4th largest firm on Wall Street and in business for 158 years, and AIG - the largest insurance company in the world. Lehman Brothers just filed for chapter 11 and AIG is in serious financial trouble. There are hundreds more large companies who have been in business a long time that are in serious trouble. Who would have ever thought that GM would even mention the possibil ity of bankruptcy? In today's troubled financial world, almost anything seems possible now. What is leading to the financial demise of these companies? In the opinion of many, being in a high risk market/industry and having poor leadership are the 2 major culprits. Industries can easily change from great and secure to financially disastrous, and we see this happening now on a regular basis. Look at the automotive industry. Look at the airline industry. Look at the real estate industry. Look at the banking industry. Look at the insurance industry. Look at the retail industry, and the list goes on. All have become extremely high risk to be involved in, and in most cases when it comes to individual companies, poor leadership has been a major culprit in the demise of many. Now, take a look at Shaklee. Shaklee has always been in the right industry and pr oduct markets, usually ahead of its time. Shaklee has been in business 52 years with a solid track record, but today we know that being in business a long time does not mean you are going to stay in business - that's not enough. Shaklee has enjoyed periods of time with phenomenal growth, but has also struggled at times. The redeeming factor during all this time, and why Shaklee is still here today is due to the fact that our products were so good, and our core customer base and Field leadership base was so loyal and solid, that Shaklee withstood the test of time. In 2004, Roger Barnett became our new owner/leader and as a result, today Shaklee is growing and expanding globally, and is under the best leadership since Dr. Shaklee. Roger Barnett has changed the course and future of Shaklee and all the evidence of this is crystal clear today. In economic times when most companies are tightening their belts in every way they can just to remain solvent, Shaklee is continuing to expand into new markets (countries) - China opens December 1st, for example. Since 2004, under the leadership of Roger Barnett, Shaklee has launched Nutriferon®, Cinch®, Get Clean®, Vitalizer?, and now, Vivix?. Shaklee has added 2 new forms of compensation, the GOLD Ambassador Program and Tru-Infinity. Roger has hired the best in their field such as Dr. Jamie McManus and Dr. Carsten Smidt, for example, to take Shaklee to new levels of product innovation and product breakthroughs. Roger is responsible for the 50th Anniversary Landmark Study that proves Shaklee product effectiveness and superiority. It is a published independent study for all time, one that no other company has to point to in order to back up the efficacy of their products - proof that they work.As a result of all this and much more, Shaklee has experienced 8 consecutive quarters of growth, most in doub le digit sales increase. Sales for this month of September 08 are running 22% above September 07. Vivix just launched on 8-8-08 and already has become the biggest single product launch in Shaklee's 52-year history. Shaklee will officially launch in China on 12/1/08, to the largest population in the world. The focus and emphasis for expanding into 50 new countries (Roger's plan since he became Shaklee's new owner in 2004) has all been on launching China for the past 2 years, and now that this HUGE new business launch is becoming a reality within the next 90 days, more new countries and markets for Shaklee products will soon be on the horizon. Once this happens, Shaklee will become a global giant in our industry, and it is going to happen.Shaklee is in a low-risk industry. There is little risk of people not wanting/needing our product lines. There is little risk of people not needing to loo k for a way to increase their household income. There are few safer business environments a person can be involved with. What is needed today is for more people to realize that in a world of economic uncertainty that has been fueled by poor leadership and lack of vision, Shaklee is a Company that offers a secure haven for people to build a better future. Like all businesses, occupations, and professions, in order to be successful and reap the rewards the Shaklee business offers, it requires that a person make a decision and a firm commitment to build their business, number 1, and then focus and commit their time and effort on the work it takes to build it. Shaklee is not a free lunch program or a get-rich-quick scheme. It takes commitment, a plan, and consistent effort to build a financially rewarding Shaklee business, but, our business environment and product markets are as safe and secure as it gets in today's world. Why S haklee?Because in today's world, Shaklee is as good as it gets. How much do you want to/need to earn? An additional $1000 to $2000 a month? $5000 a month? $10,000 a month? $30,000 to $50,000 a month?* More than that? Any amount is possible and available to you providing you are willing to work for it. In Shaklee, you pick the level of income you want to earn and then you go out build it, and no one stands in your way. Instead, you have the full support and backing of your upline team of leaders, and the entire Shaklee Corporation standing behind you and supporting you - and all cheering you on, every step of the way.

This picture was taken when Marsha (in black) got treated to dinner out for being a new distributor with the most appointments! Incentives are fun and everyone can look forward to a new one soon! Yeah Marsha!

Imagine yourself in the next recognition picture! I hope this entry helps you understand setbacks are a part of climbing to the top and that everyone will go through the ups and downs along the path!
"How you rebound from a setback speaks volumes about who you are"

This quote is from one my "coaching" books. for 4 years I let Shaklee "coast" and I did the work to become trained to be a personal and small business coach. One thing was always clear to me as I worked with clients. EVERYONE has obstacles and setbacks in ALL areas of life. That "is" life. Remember the game Candyland? How many times did you slide down the wrong "candy river" and have to climb back and get back on the path? The people I coached were of two types.

1. The first type of client recognized what "needed" to be done but never quite could "stick" to a strategy to change the behavior causing their "discomfort'. They always had "good" excuses, but had much difficulty achieving a short term goal.

2. The second type of client would identify a challenge and USE COACHING as an accountability tool to work through the challenges and move closer to the targeted outcome.

When you are building your business you will be faced with choices as "life" changes. Sometimes you will feel too overwhelmed to step back and refocus. Sometimes you will get so busy that you forget the "habits" that keep your business balanced and organized. Make sure you have an accountability partner. Most of the time it is your upline. When you fall off of your weekly mark, an emerging leader will stay determined and work on themselves and their attitude so the next week won't be the same.

One of the gifts of Shaklee is for you to "get to know" yourself better. Identify the things you love and those you'd like to change. When setbacks happen make sure you take time to breathe, refocus, strategize and share with your upline... then rebound and breakthrough! It is amazing what one simple success will do to get you back on track!

It is the weekend, do you have your plan for the week? Walk boldly towards your goals, one week, one day one appointment at a time.

ARE YOU A MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK???

For those of you who don't know that term.... it means you analyze what "should" have happened, after the fact. Sometimes this happens with our businesses. The value of focus each WEEK of the month can't be stressed enough.

Do you have your "call" list (game plan) for this week mapped out?
Do you have your follow up organized?
Do you feel motivated to "plant" seeds 5 times a day each day this week?

Monday mornings can feel one of two ways:

1. Monday can feel like a present you are opening and each day of the week is a gift that brings new surprises and possibilities. It can be filled with the excitement, filled with following up from the activity of the week before and anticipation of what is "in the gift" of your activity this week.

2. Monday can feel like a chain, holding you down from new thinking and new activity. You show up for "work" on Monday with no real plan and no direction for how your IPA (income producing activity) will manifest itself.

WHAT TO DO TO NEVER BE A MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK WITH SCENARIO NUMBER #2 NEVER BEING YOUR WAY!!!

Create a daily habit around your activity.
a. Look at your monthly ideas and plans
b. Take the ones that are going to be on your plan sheet (Tracey's is great, or a power plan) and make some activity around them by friday of each week.
c. Find a few minutes to do the "special touch" follow up

Monday should always find you with a weekly activity list, with appointments in place and more to make! The more you work on this skill the more Monday mornings will be a "GIFT" and you will just love to keep opening the contents, day after day of the week!

What is the affirmation you have written and are saying at every traffic light?

You become what you think about most of the time!!! Affirm it! Caryn

A clear path creates confidence and action

With Boldness and Clarity present your plan!

What did you hear on the call last night? I heard a lot of "change" in the air! I heard brand new people speak with confidence, and I heard veterans with new wind beneath their wings? Why do you think this is happening?

It is my perception that whenever you have a group of like minded people moving towards a common goal, energy is created. Energy is created because the goal is clear, the path is direct and the results are rewarding.

The Goal is Clear....
People in Category 5 have a clear goal. What is yours? Can you look at your plan TODAY and KNOW in your heart that your GOAL for this year is fed by your "WHY" for building Shaklee?
Is your goal posted? Do you have affirmations that build your confidence towards that goal?
Say your goal to yourself at every stop light you are at this week! Here is mine: I am a dynamic, energetic Key Coordinator with 5 first level Business Leaders by June 09. Next week I am going to ask 5 people to start the call by stating their goal in this way.

The path is direct
Our new approach to "show the plan" is making our path to our goal very direct. The energy and time it used to take to "prepare" is now spent on planting more seeds. Massive action creates massive results. With a path that is simple and direct you can reach many more people and inspire others to do the same. What can you do this week to "hone" your presentation skills with this new plan? How can you make the product section "yours"? Who do YOU want your new clients to perceive you as being in their life? If you approach each appointment with that vision in your mind you will be able to create a confident presentation that you will WANT to invite people to hear!

The results are rewarding!
Each time you have an appointment you will want to give the most amazing customer service. You will want to feel good about bringing products to your new clients that will impact their lives and the planet. One of the rewards for you will be to feel the amazing feeling you get when you create that relationship and take great care of them! Decide your system for customer care and repeat, repeat! The Gold membership is a way to build people who see Shaklee from the big picture from the start! This may get their wheels turning to send you that golden nugget, if they themselves aren't ready for our opportunity. The $50.00 the company sends them as a thank you is their reward.. yours is that you are building deep, searching for the one who will want the Golden Ticket to their future! Enjoy the process... September Productivity

PRODUCTIVITY
Your attitude will play a large part in how productive you are

With anything you set about to accomplish in life, discovering ways to measure how effective you are is important. We are at the end of a month. For a lot of us the month started out in New Orleans... excited, full of expectation. Upon returning, many of us couldn't quite "get off the mark" with having a high volume month. I say many, not all! What is the difference?

Circumstances are certainly a part of it. August is a time when many people have a different schedule. When our schedules vary from the "norm" it can throw us off. Those that DID have a productive month adhered to some basic fundamentals of productivity.

1. Plan ahead what your month looks like- In our organization we utilize a "power plan". This weekend is the time you should be developing your strategy for Sept. through your power plan.
2. Be consistent- Don't rely on sprinting to the end of a month. It is important to develop activity each week of the month. Making 5 contacts a day is a way to create the "habit" of consistency.
3. Follow up- What are you doing with your new members, distributors and Gold Ambassadors? Are you remembering to send them a personal note the day after their initial contact with you? Do you have your member folders ready to give them at your first appt. so they EXPECT you to have more contact with them? Do you check to make sure their products have arrived? Do you ask them to refer you to their friends and tell them you are in a growth phase of your business?
4. EXPECT- Do you expect to get your 5 Golds by Sept. 22? Do you see it first, do you BELIEVE that you will be placed in situations that invite new opportunities? Do you spend time working on affirmations?

If you start your September with your MONTHLY GOAL and your weekly breakdown of how to get there POSTED... and then you pledge to create the four habits outlined above YOUR PRODUCTIVITY WILL AT LEAST DOUBLE THIS MONTH!!!! In Shaklee we call it IPA- Income producing activity. That is time that you spend actually generating volume. What is your IPA going to be this month? 10 new customers 5 of which are GOLD? How many times will you SHOW THE PLAN. Show it to everyone who has a half an hour to sit with you.

Whether you are motivated by the trip, motivated by the opportunity to serve more people, motivated by increasing your income... the above habits to higher productivity are the path to get there! "See you on the call" Tuesday!! Caryn

Reminder to sign up for ST. Lousi Convention if you haven't already!!! Here are some of us at the Masquerade party the last night in NOrleans.
So... how was your Shaklee Day???
I stayed up late last night and worked on a simple one on one presentation using the Join us presentation and the product guide. Today I got to do it with my new distributor Sam... She had an appt. with a teacher at her son's school. I asked on the way in... what does she think we are coming here for??? She said... the skin care products.
WHAT did I do??? Showed the whole story! The page that outlines the 4 product lines is an awesome segue into the product guide. I asked questions, found out info... and low and behold she signed up as a gold ambassador with the Cinch package. She really didn't get offered anything else. She doesn't want the website, but it was still a great deal for her! Lesson: Don't ever go into an appointment with preconceived thinking. Show the story, ask questions and then have them choose a product line to get started with... there is a gold kit for each product line!!! Change your thinking and change your results! To your success!!! Caryn
please add comments about what you did today to develop your 5 contacts!
